Always Be Sure to Check Weather & Road Conditions Before Traveling to the Mountains!
Mountain weather changes rapidly! Always carry chains as you may need to use them to get out of slippery icy roads.
Bring plenty of warm clothing, water, flashlights, a shovel. An extra pair of shoes and socks are a good idea since clothing and shoes get wet and cold quickly!
DO NOT park in the road or block driveways.
This prevents EMERGENCY VEHICLES and other drivers from being able to pass safely.
DO NOT play in the snow right next to the road
OR on Private Property
Snow and ice are slippery and you may find yourself in front of a passing car. Palomar Mountain State Park, Cleveland National Forest & Palomar Mountain County Park are for public use and have hundreds of acres of public areas to enjoy the snow!
DO bring a sack/bag to take your trash home in. Please do not throw your trash in the road, parks or on private property.
DO have plenty of gas in your car!
Palomar Mountain does not have a gas station.
